Not only do they spend at least eight hours a day working outside of the home, they also have to work taking care of the home. It’s no wonder moms might get out of shape; they don’t have time to take care of themselves. Experts will tell you to of the advantages of taking care of yourself, however. Following are working mother’s fitness tips which can help you.</p>
<p>Even if you don’t think you have a lot of time, there’s still much you can do to get in better shape. In fact, some experts are saying that rather than spending hours working out, it is better to exercise twenty minutes three times a week. Do you have twenty minutes you can spare? If your day is full, making time for those twenty minutes could be the most important part of your day.</p>
<p>Before going any further, remember it’s important to take care of yourself. If you don’t take care of your own needs, including getting fit and healthy, you won’t feel well enough to do the things you need to do. Give yourself permission to do what’s best for you. Devoting time to your own health will benefit everyone involved: you, your family and your boss. </p>
<p>Make fitness a priority. Put your twenty minute exercise time on your calendar in the same way you would any other appointment. Instead of going to lunch three days a week with your friends or co-workers, take those days to walk during your lunch break. You can still eat a light lunch, spend twenty minutes walking, and then get back to work. Enlist your friends to join you and you could all feel better.</p>
<p>Get your family involved. Exercising as a family can do more than make you feel healthier. It can allow you time to reconnect when everyone has a busy schedule. Take a walk after dinner or ride bicycles. Does your family have a pool? Swimming is great exercise and can be so much fun.</p>
<p>It may have been a long time since you’ve done any exercising. Start out slow so you don’t injure yourself. Pace yourself and then work yourself up to twenty minutes of exercise. You can do some research to determine what your exercising heart rate should be to get the most benefit for the activity you’ve chosen.</p>
<p>Perhaps you are too busy even to take twenty minutes out of your day three times a week. Maybe your family is too busy as well. Why not sit down as a family and write down everything everyone does? Give everyone a color and create a calendar with everyone’s appointments or obligations for every day of the week. If you look at your calendar and there aren’t any down times except for when you sleep, it may be time to think about having everyone cut back a little. </p>
<p>Determine which activities are absolutely necessary. This would be going to school for children and going to work for working adults. Those are non-negotiable. You may also include regular religious services if your family attends them, medical and business appointments, as well as physically purchasing groceries so the family can eat. </p>
<p>Decide which activities can be cancelled so you can all take time to take care of yourselves, especially the working mom. If your family can cut out some activities, you might actually have twenty minutes three times a week to devote to getting fit.</p>

They’re the people who would rather sit around watching television rather than getting up and getting active. You may be wondering how to get your entire family fit. You may want to create a fitness challenge.</p>
<p>Start by finding out activities that everyone in your family is willing to participate in. This could be bowling, bicycling, hiking, running, or simply walking. Any activity you can decide upon that everyone will do is a good choice.</p>
<p>Once you’ve chosen the family fitness activity, you’ll want to make a fitness plan with the whole family. Look at everyone’s schedules and see what obligations the family has. Mark all of these activities on a calendar so you can see when everyone is available.</p>
<p>While it would be best if the entire family could do something together, that simply may not be possible. Perhaps one of the older children works after school. Another may play in the school band which requires them to practice every night. Mom or Dad may also have business obligations which keep them away from home more nights than not.</p>
<p>If everyone can’t do the same activity at the same time, you can have a competition of sorts among the family members. Consider measuring and weighing everyone to find out what their starting statistics are for the fitness challenge. This will be the baseline information to determine how everyone is doing.</p>
<p>Create a fitness journal for each person. You can find premade fitness journals online if you have the time to look for them or you can create one which meets your family’s needs. They don’t have to be complicated. The journal only needs a place for the date, a place to specify what activity was done, and several squares to mark off each 20 minutes of physical activity they did.</p>
<p>Set realistic fitness goals for each person based on their current age, health, and abilities. For instance, if one person in your family is very young, they’re obviously not going to be able to lift fifty pounds. Likewise, someone with health concerns isn’t going to be able run the same distance as someone who’s healthy. They may, however, be able to walk the same distance or at least work up to reaching that distance.</p>
<p>The American Heart Association (AHA) has indicated that people from 18-65 should participate in moderately-intense physical activity at least 30 minutes for five days a week. Or they can do vigorous-intensity aerobic activity for 20 minutes a day for three days each week. If the people in your family have been sedentary for a long time, you’ll want to work up to the guidelines from the AHA. It is also a good idea to check with your family doctor to ensure each person is able to become more physically active.</p>
<p>Once you have your family fitness challenge goals established, you’ll also want to determine some rewards for meeting those goals. Rather than giving food rewards, choose something everyone can enjoy that doesn’t relate to food. Perhaps you can plan a trip to the beach or the movies.</p>
<p>Remember the ultimate goal when trying to determine how to get your entire family fit. You want everyone to be healthy and happy. Create a fitness challenge everyone can participate in, set reasonable goals, and then celebrate each member’s successes with a family reward.</p>

Celiac disease affects the small intestine and damages the intestine, which prevents food from being digested and absorbed properly. A gluten-free diet is the only way to prevent any reoccurrence of symptoms associated with celiac disease. The following is a list of foods that should be avoided when you are prescribed a gluten-free diet.</p>
<p>* Any processed food should be avoided. It may seem like a difficult task given the nature of many foods on the market; however, it is possible to find gluten-free foods. Most supermarkets will have a section dedicated specifically to gluten-free products. Many processed foods are produced in a plant where equipment is shared with products that contain gluten. </p>
<p>* As a rule most pasta and cereals should be avoided. Any product that contains wheat, rye or barley should be avoided as well. These products all contain gluten which triggers celiac disease reactions. In addition, avoid any products that have been created using equipment that is shared with wheat products. All products that come into contact with shared equipment are required by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to be labeled when the possibility exists.</p>
<p>* Many types of flour include wheat grains which makes them a no-no for people on a gluten-free diet. Many types of items made with flour, such as bread, cake and donuts must be avoided as they contain gluten. Special items are available at bakeries for those with gluten allergies or intolerance. </p>
<p>If you like to bake your own bread or cakes, there are several gluten-free alternatives to use such as amaranth, millet or quinoa. Do your research and figure out which substitutes would have the best chance in your recipes. You can also search online for gluten-free recipes to make at home yourself.</p>
<p>* Snack foods, especially if seasoned, may contain gluten. When purchasing these products, be sure to check the label for any products containing gluten. While fried goods, meatloaf and meat balls may not contain gluten, they are typically breaded or held together with breadcrumbs which do contain wheat products. </p>

Playing tennis can also help prevent osteoporosis. All-in-all, from a physical standpoint, tennis is a great balanced workout.</p>

The plain fact is that exercise is good for you physically and emotionally. Exercising releases chemicals endorphins which stimulate the ‘feel good’ receptors in your brain. <p>Tennis can be a great activity if you’ve had a bad day and find yourself being angry. Not only will focusing on your game help you get your mind off of your frustrations, you’ll also have the added benefit of being able to ‘hit’ something. <p>If you’re looking for a natural way to improve your mood, playing tennis or being otherwise physically active is your best choice. Besides increasing the mood-boosting chemicals in your brain, it also balances out your cholesterol and burns calories. Playing a sport with someone, such as doubles tennis or a team sport, is often a better choice if your mood needs to be improved.</p>
<p>You’re also improving your physical appearance while playing tennis or another sport. You’ll notice muscle definition in your legs. You’ll stand up straighter and carry yourself in a whole different way. And if you’re carrying yourself differently, you’ll begin to feel better about yourself and your efforts to improve your health. <p>Learning how a game of tennis can improve your mood may be what you need to encourage you to take up the sport. You can often find someone to teach you the game if you’ve never played before. During the warmer months when bees are active, someone in the family inevitably gets stung. Learn about home remedies for bee stings so you know how to treat them.</p>
<p>Some people are highly allergic to bee and wasp stings. If they begin having problems breathing, their tongue swells, or they have a sudden rash, get them to the doctor immediately. They may be going into anaphylactic shock; some allergic reactions can be fatal. In most cases, people with that severe an allergy will have an epinephrine pen with them. Using this pen immediately upon being stung could very well save their life.</p>
<p>Even if you and your family don’t have severe allergies to bee stings, you’ll want to know what to do should you be stung. Here are the three main actions you can take:</p>
<p><strong>1. Remove the sting. </strong>You can do this by scraping your fingernail across it. If that doesn’t work, use a credit card or the back of a plastic knife. Any stiff surface which can scrape the sting and extract it from the skin will do.</p>
<p><strong>2. Clean the wound with warm water and a mild soap.</strong> Rinse it with warm water and then pat the area dry. </p>
<p><strong>3. Find something to relieve the pain.</strong></p>
<p>One of the easiest home remedies for bee stings is a plant most people consider to be a weed. You probably have this in your yard; it’s called plantain. There are two varieties – broad leaf and long leaf. They can be found growing in the cracks of your sidewalk or along your garden. If possible, use the broad leaf plantain.</p>
<p>Pick a few leaves from an area that hasn’t been sprayed or isn’t near the road. Chew the leaves up in the front of your mouth. After the leaves are pulverized somewhat, spit the leaves and saliva out and onto the sting. Hold that there until the pain subsides. Repeat if necessary.</p>
<p>Baking soda and water made into a paste will also work. Mix a two-to-one ratio of baking soda to water and stir it well. This will make a paste which can be applied to the skin.</p>
<p>You may already be crying from the bee sting but you may want to go ahead and cut up an onion. Laying a slice of freshly cut onion on the sting will also provide relief. Of course, if you use an onion, you may smell a little after the pain has eased.</p>
<p>Raw apple cider vinegar is also a good home remedy for bee stings. This can be found at health food stores and can be used for cooking besides first aid. Dab a little vinegar on the wound to draw out the poison that may be left after cleaning and to prevent swelling. </p>
<p>Wet an aspirin and place it on the sting or make a paste of meat tenderizer and water to use on the sting. Either of these will reduce the inflammation and neutralize the poison.</p>
<p>The above home remedies for bee stings have been used for years and are proven to be effective. Remember to remove the stinger, clean the wound, and then treat it. Watch for allergic reactions and get medical help should they become evident.</p>

To accomplish this goal, you encourage them to be active, avoid too many fatty and sweet foods, take baths and wash their hands. However, you may have a picky eater. Here are some do’s and don’ts of encouraging children to become healthy eaters.</p>
<p>It’s not unusual for children to have bad diets, unfortunately. When they’re little and we can control what they eat, we can ensure they’re eating healthy foods. As they grow up, however, they develop their own tastes as far as food is concerned. They may only like to eat macaroni and cheese or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. How do you get them to eat fruits and vegetables, too?</p>
<p>Children learn by example in almost everything. If they see parents, siblings, and friends eating potato chips and drinking soft drinks, they’ll want to eat those as well. The reverse is true; if they see everyone eating fresh fruits and vegetables they’ll be more likely to follow suit. So, if you want your children to become healthy eaters, the adults in the family will want to set the pace.</p>
<p>Offer your child healthy foods for snacks. Rather than giving them cookies or candy for a snack, offer fresh fruit like apples, oranges, or grapes, depending upon your child’s age. If you don’t have junk food in your home, your child won’t learn to eat it.</p>
<p>Experts say to offer your child a new food at least twenty times before they&#8217;ll eat it. If you’re introducing a new food, put just a bite on their plate. Ask them to taste it; if they don’t want to try it immediately, don’t push them. Each meal you serve that food, continue to put a bite on their plate and ask them to taste it. Before too long they’ll do at least that. </p>
<p>Be sure you’re not introducing too many new foods at once. In fact, it’s better if you only introduce one new food at a time until your child starts eating it. This means that if you’re trying to get your child to eat peas, wait until you’ve had success with those before you introduce Brussels sprouts.</p>
<p>If the food is on their plate, let them play with the food. They may roll the food around on their plate, make faces in it by putting other food into it, or some other creative idea. If you allow them to play with the food, it won’t seem so intimidating.</p>
<p>Even though you might be tempted, don’t hide vegetables in something you fix. This might backfire on you. Although your intention to get your child to eat vegetables is good, they may decide to stop eating whatever you’ve hidden the vegetables in from now on. </p>
<p>Your own parents probably made you finish everything on your plate “because there are poor, malnourished children all over the world.” You don’t have to follow in your parent’s eating style. If your child doesn’t want to eat anymore, don’t make them finish their plate. </p>
<p>Give them what they like, to a point. If they like eating hot dogs, look for ones that have lower fat content. If they want ice cream buy the single serving sizes so they won’t be tempted to eat more than they need.</p>
<p>It’s not easy having a child who’s a picky eater, but you can survive it. Follow these do&#8217;s and don’ts of encouraging children to become healthy eaters. It may not happen overnight, but if you’re persistent it will happen.</p>

<p><strong>Here are a few more reasons why swimming is a great all-around exercise.</strong> </p>
<p><strong>#1 – Keeps you healthy.</strong> Swimming is a great way of building up cardiovascular health. It also helps reduce weight and tone your body. If you find going to the gym or running isn’t great for you, why not give swimming a try? You can start slowly and build up to a higher level at your own pace. </p>
<p><strong>#2 – Easy on your joints.</strong> If you have joint problems, swimming is a great exercise option. Did you know that you could burn approximately 350 calories for every 30 minutes of moderate swimming? In fact, may experts believe that swimming burns more calories than running, without the stress on the joints. If you’re looking for a great all-round fat burner, you may want to give swimming a try. It’s particularly effective because it doesn’t strain the joints, ideal if you’re carrying around extra weight. </p>

<p>People often think that when they’re trying to drop extra pounds they’re limited to what they can eat, and that’s true to a degree. But, there’s no need to starve yourself or eat nothing but rice cakes. You can have snacks which are healthy and taste great so you won’t have to suffer while you’re slimming down.</p>
<p>Advertisements on television and in magazines state each person needs a certain number of dairy servings a day. The ads claim you can actually lose weight by consuming dairy products. Well, why not <strong>eat low-fat yogurt as a snack.</strong> Add fresh fruit to the yogurt and you’ve taken care of one serving of dairy and one serving of fruit for the day. You’ll also have the benefit of the vitamins and minerals from both foods which are necessary for health.</p>
<p>What do you do if you don’t like yogurt that much? You can get dairy servings in other ways, too; <strong>try a low-fat milkshake or smoothie.</strong> Using skim or low-fat milk, ice, and either fresh or frozen fruit, you can make a great milkshake to enjoy for breakfast or at any other time of the day. </p>
<p>If you’d like to try something different, why not simply try a <strong>green smoothie</strong>? You use water, 100% fruit juice, water, fruit, and then add raw spinach or another green leafy vegetable. It may take a bit to get used to, but once you’ve had this type of drink you’ll soon learn to love them. This will be very low fat, as you’re not adding anything to the fruit, vegetables and water, and will be full of health-giving vitamins and minerals.</p>

When your child is disabled it’s not uncommon for the parents to feel they’ve done something wrong. You may also wonder how to embrace your child’s disability. The following are some ideas to help parents learn to handle the changes and love the child while trying to learn all you can about your child’s disability.</p>
<p>Once a couple finds out their child has a disability their life often comes to a screeching halt. This revelation could occur while the baby is still in the womb, immediately after birth, or after an injury of some type. Quite often the family will fall apart rather than pulling together and learning to survive. However, this doesn’t have to be the course your family takes once you learn of a child’s life-threatening illness or disability. </p>
<p>What determines if your child has a disability? According to medical dictionaries, a disability is a physical or mental impairment which limits one or more senses or activities required to live. This might include lack of hearing, seeing, speaking, walking, learning or caring for oneself. </p>
<p>In many cases, a family will experience added stress both financially and emotionally, as well as a sense of loss for what the child could have been. Parents need to learn as much as they can about the particular disability their child has. You may want to do research on the internet or find other families with children with the same or similar disability. Families who have already been where your family currently is can offer support and knowledge you may not be able to learn another way.</p>
<p>Accept that your family will go through many emotions. You may blame yourself, deny the disability, become depressed, or strike out at those who are closest to you. Experiencing the same emotions as you would with a death are not uncommon, so be prepared. The emotional and physical stress of having a disabled child can be devastating if you don’t have a support network to help you.</p>
<p>Be sure to communicate with one another; don’t keep your emotions and frustrations to yourself. If you have other children, do everything you can to help them understand what’s going on. Even though your disabled child needs you, your other children don’t stop needing you as well.</p>
<p>Seek out people who can help you, whether they are medical professionals, mental health professionals, or families who have gone through this before you. Family counseling may help the family stay together rather than fall apart after you learn of your child’s disability. Your child’s doctor will be able to provide you with support groups or you may find out about them by doing research on the internet.</p>
<p>What’s most important to realize after learning of the disability is that learning how to embrace your child’s disability is a family affair. Everyone will need to chip in to care for the disabled child. And, if you have a support system of family, friends, and families who also have children with the same disability, you should be able to do more than survive; your family should be able to thrive!</p>

<p>A critical key of anti-aging is to stay active and content. Here are some simple strategies you can use to combat the aging process:</p>
<p><strong>1.	Engage your mind. </strong>It&#8217;s important to keep your mind active. When you exercise your mind, you&#8217;ll stay sharp and keep your memory intact. Avoid falling into predictable patterns and always strive to challenge yourself. Take time to do puzzles each day and seek out new experiences.</p>
<p>•	Your exciting years are never over as long as you&#8217;re still out there seeking thrills.</p>
<p>2.	Exercise. Just like the mind, it&#8217;s important to exercise your body. The saying, &#8220;If you don&#8217;t use it, you lose it&#8221; is so true! Follow an exercise routine that makes use of all your muscle groups.</p>
<p>•	If you make the effort to stay active, you&#8217;ll look and feel younger. This is one of the main reasons why some people in their 70&#8217;s can do yoga, while others are walking with assistance. </p>
<p><strong>3.	Eat a balanced diet.</strong> A balanced diet is simply the best thing you can do for your health. An unhealthy indulgence here and there shouldn&#8217;t hurt you, but your overall goal should be to have a well balanced diet. </p>
<p>•	Having a poor diet can lead to obesity and other health problems. These health issues could end up shaving years off of your life or cause your golden years to be fraught with pain and distress.</p>
<p><strong>4.	Reduce stress.</strong> Stress is often ignored as a necessary part of life, but it&#8217;s a huge problem in the world today. Stress is a major cause of illness, including heart disease and weakened immune systems. When you&#8217;re overly stressed, it&#8217;ll interfere with your health. </p>
<p>•	Do what you can to combat stress by finding activities that you find relaxing at the end of each day. </p>
<p><strong>5.	Take care of your skin.</strong> Even if you feel okay with the fact that you&#8217;re getting older, you may still be concerned about wrinkles or sagging skin showing your age. Proper skin care is a must.</p>
<p>•	Drink 8 glasses of water every day to keep your skin well hydrated.<br />
•	Use a good moisturizer.<br />
•	Keep your body well stocked with Vitamin C. Eat citrus fruits and berries or take a supplement.</p>
<p><strong>6.	Adopt a healthy lifestyle.</strong> Shoot for having an overall healthy lifestyle, including eating right, exercising, and avoiding unhealthy habits. Things like alcohol and smoking should be cut out or left for rare occasions. </p>
<p><strong>7.	Consider hormone therapy.</strong> Hormone therapy can be considered under the care of a licensed physician. While it might not be an option for everyone, some feel that hormone replacements can help people fight aging, because hormone levels are important to healthy function and some of them can decrease as you age.</p>
<p><strong>8.	Remember to get your antioxidants.</strong> Antioxidants from food or vitamins are always a good idea. They tend to reduce the amount of free radicals, which may contribute to cancer, in the body. Healthy cell function enables you to lead a longer and healthier life. </p>
